Newfoundland and Labrador’s Easter Seals Ambassador for 2022 is musician Brandon Bowen of CBS
Bowen, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, has made a name for himself in traditional music circles with his accordion playing and has performed at a variety of festivals and venues across the province.
The teen plays with the Brandon Bowen Band and has also played with Shanneyganock, Rum Ragged and the Masterless Men.
Samantha Parrell with Easter Seals says Bowen was named to replace 2021 Ambassador Gavin Baggs during celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Easter Seals this week.
She says Bowen will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the national 100th anniversary celebrations in a virtual event along with Christine Simpson on March 24.
She says Easter Seals, which delivers programs to people with a variety of abilities, has received great support from patrons including Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote and businessman Fraser Edison.
